Charming piece of folk art
This tile reminds me of my deep sea fishing trips and evokes a smile and pleasant memories whenever I look at it.
Fun, with a message of peace!
As one who has rescued non-human animals for many years, this art really spoke to me! I believe my cat and birds love it, too!
Already mooning my living room
Just received this beautiful piece of artwork from the artist at novica. I was so excited to get it out of the wonderful packing work. It is fantastic and I will get many compliments on it! It is truly beautiful!

Handcrafted Black Cat with Birds Ceramic Decorative Plate, "Cat and Birds"$44.99
A happy black cat with two blue birds for friends gazes out from this handcrafted decorative ceramic plate. Designed by Mexican artisan Maria Isabel Cruz, the plate is made using the centuries-old dry rope technique, in which a wax mixture made of magnesium oxide and fat are applied to the outlines of the image or motif prior to glazing. The wax mixture creates a barrier that keeps the different fill colors in the design separate during firing, before burning off to reveal the blackened ceramic beneath. The plate can be hung on a wall for display via the nylon cord on the back.
Bride and Groom Catrina Day of the Dead Wall Accent, "I Do"$39.99
A bride , clutching a flower bouquet, gazes fondly at her groom in this delightful wall accent from Mexico's Rocio Pindter. The glitter-accented paper image is set on a hand painted tin frame that has been adorned with flowers and hearts.
The original "La Calavera Catrina" was a zinc etching created by the artist José Guadalupe Posada in Mexico around 1910. Posada created the character, a female skeleton with an elegant hat, as a satirical portrait of Mexican natives who aspired to European style and denied their own heritage. The catrina has since become an emblem of Mexico's Day of the Dead celebration and a popular folk art subject.
Father Night Handcrafted Wall Sculpture, "Father Night"$114.99
Father Night appears in profile with stars in his hair, taking the shape of the crescent moon. Cut by hand from sheets of steel, the face is wonderfully expressive. Alejandro de Esesarte crafts the dramatic wall sculpture and hammers the piece into low relief. Painted by hand, its details are extraordinary.
Because each piece is individually hand-crafted and painted, size and color could vary slightly.
Hand Carved Ebony Wood Map of Africa Wall Art from Ghana, "Delights of Africa"$44.99
Add a cultural accent to the home with this wonderful wall decor from Ghana. Artisan Robert Lanyo uses rich ebony wood in his design, which he carefully hand carves into a silhouette map of Africa with etched hut and coconut tree motifs. The wall art is finished naturally, highlighting the lovely grain of the wood.
