"Hi. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Jaipur in Rajasthan. Rajasthan is so rich in culture and tradition! The festivals and ceremonies bring friends and families together.
"I grew up in a very traditional family where I learn to respect the elders and live together in unity and harmony. It's been such an amazing feeling to see my dad work so hard and achieve the respect he got in life. It really is heartwarming. I'd like to follow in his footsteps and be like him one day — I really admire him!
"I am a very simple and committed person. And I really get petrified if I'm not able to do something that I have already committed to. So, my friends always say that if I have committed to something, then consider it done, come what may.
"My family has worked in handicrafts for more than five decades. My father started this endeavor with only a few artisans and, slowly and steadily we have been able to add a variety of different craft types.
"I also saw my dad go through lot of hardship when our workshop caught on fire and all our pieces were burned to ashes. He had to start over from scratch. This really motivated me to follow his example.
"My father is a very dedicated person and he inspires me a lot. These days, he looks after the bookkeeping while I take care of the crafting processes and sales. My wife also gives me a hand designing wherever she can. However, most of our designs are traditionally-inspired and reflect the colorful art of our state.
"As a child, I was very attracted to bright colors so it was natural for me to learn these arts and join hands with my father. Apart from meenakari, we also work in marble and wood. We collaborate with a group of artisans in each category, and they receive thorough training in international quality standards. Currently we have 30 to 35 artisans with us.
"We sell our art in Jaipur and other cities in India. My dream has always been to share the art of Rajasthan with the whole world and, through Novica, my dream is coming true."
