Day of the Dead Sculpture
By Mary Ruth
A true artisan, Julio Gallardo's imagination, flair and technical skill bring the return of the dead to life. Expression, gesture and color capture the celebration night and a slice of Peruvian tradition and culture.
I have delayed in writing a review for Mr. Ramirez's beautiful work, but wasted no time whatsoever in enjoying Glamorous Catrina! The photos do not do her justice - she is quite imposing, and stands in my guest bathroom where she garners lots of compliments! The drape of her dress and the handbag are particularly appealing to me The workmanship is detailed and very well-finished. Although she is described as rustic in one of the tags, she actually is quite smooth and softly polished - quite a tactile treat. She is well worth the investment! Your artistry is very impressive, Mr. Ramirez!
Angel does awesome work. I have six of his ladies and love them all. They make me smile whenever I walk by them.
