By Juan Contreras, this silver bracelet defines the intricate Raimondi stela. Named for Antonio Raimondi who discovered it, it depicts a deity from the Chavin culture known as the smiling god. The original composition embodies duality within a figure, in this case an agricultural and fertility deity with splayed taloned feet. Juan Contreras alternates the ornate medallions with polished black obsidian.
