Misty gray covers this horizontal canvas with squares and rectangles. Clustered in the center, fields of jewel-like color mingle in harmony. Ketut Putra Yasa shares his vision of world balance in this elegant abstract.
"My name is Ketut Putra Yasa and I am an abstract modern painter from Bali. I was born in Abian Semal in 1978. I have enjoyed drawing and making free lines on paper since I was just a small child. It became more intense after studying at Denpasar ISI Art Institute.
"In Bali, ceremony plays an important part in social life. Offerings are always present in every ceremony. Even in everyday life, we can see offerings in the shrines and grounds before starting an activity. A driver puts offerings on his dashboard, etc. Colors and directions have dynamic meaning and symbol. These things inspire my intuition as I transform them onto my canvas with oil or acrylic color."
Since 1995, the artist has exhibited his paintings throughout Bali.
