In Ghana's past and sometimes today, these antique-looking trucks were used to transport goods and passengers from the villages to the cities. Working in kapok wood, Ernest Kwesi Eshun recreates a vintage model in blue. "God time is the best," it proclaims across the front. "I carved this to let children know the type of cars we used during the olden days. The slogans on the cars served as an identification. When you had an appointment with someone, you would use the slogan to tell them in which car you embarked upon your journey," the artisan explains. The back reads "No pain no gain."
