Details

"A simple style for all occasions," says Akwele Suma of the design of this necklace. She crafts the colorful necklace by hand in a variety of colors that includes grey, cream, red, orange, purple, yellow green, blue, black and brown. Suma works with recycled paper, creating beads in different shapes and sizes that alternate with sese wood spacers.

The artist uses the paper at hand so paper colors will vary, making each design a unique example of handcrafted art. These beads receive a protective coat of clear nail polish.
