In a stunning degree of detail, yet with a surrealist aesthetic, a wrinkled hand hold the world in its grip in this series of triptych paintings by Balinese artist A.A. Darmayuda. He reflects on themes of global responsibility, as the hand appears to crush the earth, turning it into a blue, gooey liquid. Says the artist, "The earth is a place for all living things and is full of good things. Yet, nowadays the earth is exploited too much by selfish people, making the earth vulnerable to destruction. With this painting, I would like to ask people to be aware and start taking care of the earth so that the earth would not be destroyed by people's selfishness."
