Details

Quickly locate and identify more than 1,500 stars that are visible to the naked eye. Choose the adapter for your latitude, rotate the time/date selector for the current date and time, and look through the Stellarscope for a star map aligned with the actual night sky as it appears in your location at that moment. Accurate between 20° and 60° north or south latitude, which includes the continental U.S. as well as most of Alaska and Canada south of the Arctic Circle.

"Disappointed in quality"

As this was $49.95, was expecting higher quality material. It?s made out of lightweight, flimsy plastic. Although I was expecting a product made of plastic I assumed it would be made of higher grade & more durable material. I was so disappointed as this was to be a nice gift for my grandson that he could keep forever. Doubt it will last very long.

"Simple to use, but the scopes view is too tiny"

This stellarscope is very portable and easy to disassemble, adjust and adapt to the right latitude and to reassemble, following the readable instructions. But the scope's view is maddeningly tiny, while the stellar configurations are complex and difficult to disentangle for comparison with the real stars. Although the lettering is very tiny, the names are crisp and readable. Perhaps a computerized version on a notebook screen is more helpful.

Best Uses
  • To take with you for desert hikes, so that there is no background light

"Not Too Hot"

I was not too big on this item. It more reminded me of a child's toy than an instrument for an adult. Especially if you're truly into star gazing and the sky. Maybe if It was offered at a much lower price. # novica
