Details

Developing a unique style, Guatemalan artist Jose Coutiño paints a composition that will bring an air into your home that is at once contemporary and traditional. In abstract, multicolored waving forms, a group of women is depicted alongside pre-Hispanic ceramic jars. Says the artist, "In Paclon Momostenango is buried Ixmukane, the first woman mentioned in the Popol Vuh. For more than 5,000 years the sacred fire has remained lit."
