This hand crafted rayon fringed shawl designed by artisan Micaela Ujpan of Guatemala features stripes in indigo, lapis, and sky blue, each stripe with an alternating "V" pattern that evokes the feel of changing winds. The jaspe weaving technique also produces a subtle striping texture in the stitchwork itself. About her passion for her work, the artisan says: “I have a personal dream of making my textiles known around the world. I also hope my daughter learns how to weave so that our Maya handloom techniques are preserved.”
