Daniel Asante invites to experience African rhythms with the powerful beat of this kpanlogo drum. It is carved by hand from tweneboa wood featuring a painted spider's web. The drumhead is made from bull hide and held taught with red cotton threads. The kpanlogo is a traditional drum from the Ewe people around the Volta and western regions of Ghana.
Daniel has two grandchildren in elementary school that he supports.
Daniel Asante has received 9 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $300 and the most recent for $600. Proceeds were used to invest in the purchase of wood, goatskin, polish, and sandpaper for production.
"The Spider Web is Gorgeous with its red hues"
This drum plays so solidly and the colors are just so outstanding! All of my students K-5th grade play this drum. It is majestic. Thank you Novica and your artisans! Keep up the wonderful work!
