Om, a mantra used in Hinduism and Buddhism, is transformed into a stunning wall hanging by Indian artisan Osho Maharaja. Using snow white cotton as a base, the artisan uses traditional screen printing techniques to create the magnificent design in shades of saffron, tangerine, peridot, deep lavender, carnation, cardinal red, and black. The ancient Sanskrit letter Om graces the center of the hanging, along the border, and in every layer of the mandala. Mandala is a Sanskrit word that means "circle."
Osho left a good job as a an textile engineer to establish his own workshop. Determined to work with local artisans, especially women who needed to work from home in rural areas, he has grown his workshop and now provides jobs for others.
The association received an award in 2017 for their work and commitment to support the education of girls.
