The lush foliage of the Peruvian Andes inspires the circular border of this piece, its refreshing movements rendered in embossed leather. Mahogany and cedar wood combine to create the frame, its folding design crafted by the hands of Abel Rios. Representing the fine furniture traditions of his country, the artisan elaborates a functional piece of rustic aesthetic perfection.

Abel no longer shares the rented patio with his chickens — the site of his first workshop. Today, the Rios family has bought that house and built a four story workshop on the adjacent land. They provide work for other artisans who help meet the international demand for their handcrafted colonial furniture and tooled leather work.
