Seen in silhouette, Rama and Sita appear on an oval pendant. According to the Ramayana, Sita, wife of Rama, was kidnapped by the evil Rahwana. But with the aid of Hanoman, the white monkey, Rama was able to rescue her. However, Rama had doubts about his beloved's innocence. To prove her honor, Sita asked to be burned and Rama granted her request. The honorable Sita was untouched by the flames. Rama and Sita are now seen as a symbol of pure love transcending all forms of evil and hardships. Diah Ayu retells the story in a sterling silver pendant and choker.
