Long and slender, this African mask is crowned by a youthful face. Daniel Quarcoo transforms sese wood into a design of his own, adding brass and aluminum repousse and colorful seed beads. He names this mask Banku Ta, which denotes the long stirring stick Ghanaian cooks use while preparing the cornmeal stew known as banku.
