Hand-carved of sese wood, the beautiful adinkra symbol Akofena forms the pendant of this necklace from Ghana. Akofena means "the sword of war," and symbolizes courage and valor. Ghanaian artisan Ali Mohammed creates the necklace, selecting beads of wood and recycled plastic to flank the pendant. The pendant adorns the neck on cord that adjusts with a sliding knot.
