Handbown glass in Mexico
"We want to reach out to the world with the identity of our Mexico, our people, our culture and our magnificent colors.""Our passion for design and for our culture brought us together. We feel we belong to the beautiful art of handblown glass. As soon as we met, we realized we have a lot of trust and empathy in our designs. Our partnership in the art was born right there and we've discovered a very special affinity in our goals and ideas. And we're both dedicated and creative.
"Once we decided to learn the technique, we took several diploma courses that gave us a new perspective on this beautiful art form. Our fascination was greatly strengthened when we carefully observed expert artisans. I love to see their respect, their dedication and discipline as they leave their special personal touch on their work. Their techniques and shapes captivated us.
"Beginning to master our art wasn't easy at all. We don't consider ourselves experts because we continue learning something new each day. And that's one of our goals.
"We cherish each moment of every day – the funny moments, the pressure, the long nights spent in the workshop before an exhibit. The new designs we begin to distribute. The laughter in the workshop when a design is a failure. All this makes me love my work with more and more intensity.
"Our own contribution to the art of blown glass is to promote designs that fascinate us. We want to learn more techniques together and, in this way, become more versatile.
"We have the firm hope and conviction that we can achieve a change in our country's appreciation for handcrafted art. We hope to open spaces and sources of work. We want to share the passion we feel for what we do and integrate others into this dream. We want to reach out to the world with the identity of our Mexico, our people, our culture and our magnificent colors."
